Regarding the installation of the works, the artist choose to leave the walls empty and use exclusively the column surfaces, the architectural element that characterizes in a relevant way the space of the gallery. Thanks to the particular dimensions of the gallery space, which increase the concentration of the viewer’s regard, the relation with the exhibited works makes the reciprocal relation between the thinking and the viewing, the being and the reflecting, even more pronounced.

More than 30 mirror works with serigraphy images of hands “in action” are, as the title suggests us, one of the emblems of communication. The images share their selves dynamically with the world, also thanks to the simplicity and the recognisability of the gestures.

During the opening of the show (from 7 to 8 pm) will be realized the event Love Difference live in a part of the gallery space especially dedicated to this. Ram Radioartemobile, led by Cecilia Casorati, will be broadcasting live online from the gallery space. The direct broadcasting of the event gets its title from the Artistic Movement for a Inter-Mediterranean Politics (Movimento Artistico per una Politica InterMediterranea), started in Biella in 2002 as a part of the Politics Office of Cittadellarte – Pistoletto Foundation, “with the purpose to obtain from the regions that converge on the Mediterranean See, people and institutions that are interested to create new perspectives beyond the tragic conflict between the cultural diversity.” Michelangelo Pistoletto, Achille Bonito Oliva, Teresa Macrì, Alfredo Pirri and Paolo Naldini from Rome, Paolo Falcone from Palermo, Idit Porat from Tel Aviv, Asia Mandic from Sarajevo, Filippo Fabbrica from Tunis, Sara Rifky from Cairo, Thierry Ollat from Marseille, Teresa and Omi Calc from Sevilla, will talk about the Mediterranean, place of diversity, tensions but also above all of the exchanges and cultural connections.

At 5 pm at Radio Arte Mobile in via Conte Verde 15 in Rome, the doors will be open to the public to present “Lo specchio parlante” (The talking mirror), a site specific installation by Michelangelo Pistoletto.

A Catalogue SKIRA/OREDARIA is being published with a critical essay by Achille Bonito Oliva.
